The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the author’s work and income, leading a long-time buy-and-hold investor to start trading options as a hedge against financial uncertainty. However, initial attempts with puts and calls were not effective. The author then discovered 0DTE (Zero Days To Expiration) credit spread trading in indexes like the S&P 500 and Russell 2000, which suited his trading style. Unlike other analysts who traded with large capital and could afford substantial losses, the author, a former insurance underwriter with an aversion to risk, developed a trading method focused on making and keeping money rather than large, risky trades. This method emphasizes careful execution and risk management.
